About
Coby Cowan is an attorney at Foster Law Group whose practice focuses on estate planning, charitable giving, and tax-exempt organizations. He works closely with individuals and families to develop thoughtful estate plans that protect assets, provide for loved ones, and ensure that clients’ wishes are clearly documented.
Coby earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Western Washington University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin. His legal training and early professional experience shaped his client-centered approach to the practice of law.
Prior to joining the firm, Coby served as a public defender representing youth in King County Juvenile Court. In that role, he advocated for young clients, helping them navigate complex legal and personal circumstances—experience that continues to inform his compassionate and practical approach to working with clients today.
Originally from Olympia, Washington, Coby now lives on Bainbridge Island with his wife and their two children. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, woodworking, and fishing.
